Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled Marine Painter to join our team in Kittery, ME. The ideal candidate will have experience with ultrahigh solids paint systems and the ability to work in confined spaces aboard marine vessels. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the capability to obtain access to government installations.
Responsibilities:
- Applying ultra high solids paint systems to marine vessels according to specifications and quality standards.
- Preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as necessary.
- Working in confined spaces aboard ships to access and paint various areas.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and protocols, including those specific to working aboard marine vessels and in government installations.
- Passing a pulmonary function test and respirator fit test as required.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate workflow and ensure project deadlines are met.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience painting marine vessels.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience painting marine vessels.
- Experience with ultra high solids paint systems preferred.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Ability to obtain access to government installations.
- Ability to pass a pulmonary function test and respirator fit test.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Not sensitive to epoxy paint systems or claustrophobic.
- SSPC C14, SSPC CAS are a plus
Temporary position with the possibility to go permanent.
