Position Summary : The CFO works directly with the CEO on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, financial analysis, forecasting needs, risk management, and relationship management for banking and investments. They monitor legislation that impacts fiscal policies and business operations. The CFO recommends financial and administrative solutions to support organizational planning and operational objectives. They are a key partner to other Executive Leadership Team members in matters of financial, industry, and business trends. The CFO oversees Human Resources for the Theatre in partnership with the Roosevelt University HR team. This position will provide counsel to the CEO and Board to help fulfill organizational needs and secure the long-term financial success of ATRU. Salary Range: $150-190K Do not contact this email address for inquiries about your job application; if you have questions, you may email [emailprotected] Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Excellent leadership and supervisory skills (This position has 2 direct reports) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong knowledge of GAAP Strong knowledge of internal control procedures Strong knowledge of not-for-profit accounting, reporting, and compliance Strong process improvement abilities Demonstrated commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility ( IDEA ). Years of Experience Required : 8-10 years total experience and 3-5 years of CFO experience Required Education : Bachelor’s Degree Minimum Qualifications : Please refer to knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Preferred Qualifications : Certified Public Accountant ( CPA ) preferred. Equipment Operated : Basic office equipment (desktop computer, copier/ multi-function device, fax and telephone). Working Conditions : Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds of weight or pressure). Regular use of desktop computer is required, calling for frequent hand/wrist movement and repetition. Moderate level of stress. Occasional travel within the local or regional setting may be required. Essential Job Functions – Duty and Responsibility Leads annual audit process and all budget processes including annual operating budget and capital budget (Percentage of time: 20%) Financial reporting and analysis including financial statements, show P&Ls, metrics for operating budget, and grant reporting meeting deadlines as required (15%) Establishes and monitors financial policy, procedure, and controls (10%) Serves as staff liaison to Finance Committee of Board of Directors (10%) Completes tax compliance filings including Form 990, amusement tax exemptions, sales tax, and other compliance requirements by deadlines (15%) Oversees work of Director of Finance and Finance Manager in general ledger, reconciliation, accounts payable, and payroll including summary and detail review of entries and show settlements (15%) Consults on budget management and financial planning for Executive Leadership Team (10%) Facilitates recruiting, onboarding and offboarding with support from Executive Assistant to the CEO/Other duties as assigned (5%) To Apply : Please fill out our online application by clicking here .
