This position supervises and manages the operations of the Auditing & Coding Analysts team responsible for auditing and monitoring claims activity, verifying complete and accurate billing and documentation, and the coordination of the improvement of clinical documentation. This is a Full-time, benefit eligible, remote position open to Missouri residents. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC • Supervise and oversee the operations of the Auditing & Coding Analysts • Perform in-depth audits of patient records, reviewing diagnosis and procedures for coding compliance with local, state, federal coding regulations and coding guidelines • Develops and implements audit tools based on regulatory compliance requirements to identify occurrences of “up” or “down” coding of patient records, potential documentation issues, and other areas of risk • Oversee coding related claim denials • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings, corrective action plans implemented and monitoring • Present in-person and via remote software, audit findings, education, and trends to physicians, coders, and/or other facility professionals • Communicates regularly with the Chief of Audit Service • Collaborates with clinical, revenue, and EHR leadership • Attends committee meetings as assigned • Provides support to joint projects with other internal staff • Maintains knowledge of all EHR systems that the organization uses Job Requirements Highs School/GED required QUALIFICATION(S): WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS • At least three (3) years’ coding experience • NextGen Electronic Health Record preferred but not required • Valid certification from AAPC or AHIMA • A valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required QUALIFICATION(S): LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION • Oversees day-to-day operations and tasks of supervisees • Completes performance development/AIM process • Time card management – manages time sheets • Ensures progress and development is made toward departmental strategic plan goals Compass Health Network is a nonprofit health care organization offering accessible, comprehensive, & compassionate behavioral health, substance use treatment, family medicine and dental services throughout Missouri.
