The Department of General Services is looking for a Program Specialist II to join the Fleet Management Services Team .

Position Summary

This position provides program support and analytical work for the Division of Fleet Management Services (DFMS), particularly in the areas of fleet equipment asset tracking, vehicle titling and disposal. This position assists in the migration of the Fleet Management Information System (FMIS), Faster, to Asset Works by planning, analyzing, coordinating, and developing recommendations.

The position is responsible for

  • generating, managing, and auditing asset records and data, physically and in FMIS, for the entire fleet of over 3,000 vehicles.
  • coordinating disposal processes of DFMS motor vehicles and equipment through coordination with Shop Superintendents, Crew Chiefs, Accountant/Auditors, reception, and management as necessary.
  • coordinating with system users who provide monthly updates on warranties, billing, and user information.
  • coordinating and reconciling all state motor vehicle information and transactions including but not limited to requests for duplicate titles, registrations, tags which are received via Excel spreadsheet shared by the various shops within the division.
  • serving as primary interface to auction house, creating complete and accurate listing for auctions and determining the appropriate lot size for auctions.
  • verifying information received from the shops for accuracy, following bidding process to completion, and processing payment and disposal paperwork with the successful bidder.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience : Two (2) years of professional experience in fleet equipment management.

Education : Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.

Equivalency :An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Preferred Criteria

There are no preferred criteria.All applicants will be reviewed by OHR for minimum qualifications. Those applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be rated "Qualified," placed on the Eligible List, and may be considered for interview.

Preference for interviews will be given to applicants with experience in the following:
  1. Experience managing data in a Fleet Management Information System (FASTER or similar system).
  2. Experience using automated systems and tools to process, store, access and analyze information and data, including ORACLE, Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and a Fleet Management Information System (FASTER).
  3. Experience classifying and categorizing varying types of cars, trucks, buses, highway equipment, specialty vehicles, and non-propelled equipment.
  4. Experience managing a Fleet Management equipment program, including asset tracking, vehicle titling and disposal.
  5. Experience working with the MVA processing vehicle tags and titles.
