Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to provide quality dining room service at all times in accordance with Federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, as well as our established policies and procedures as may be directed by the dining room Supervisor or the Chef/Manager.

1. Ability to communicate with and relate well to elder populations.
2. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
3. Ability to understand and complete on-the-job training.
4. Ability to take accurate orders/confirm orders with residents.
5. Ability to serve meals in accordance with training.
6. Ability to complete other assigned tasks i.e. sweeping, clearing and cleaning tables/chairs, resetting and cleaning dining room and work areas as needed.
7. Ability to carry trays of food.
8. Ability to follow regulations for safe handing of food and service items.
9. Ability to use equipment and materials carefully, and in safe manner, following correct operation and cleaning procedures.
10. Follows cleaning and sanitation procedures.
11. Reports repair and supply needs to supervisor.
12. Must be willing to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.
13. To complete task asked by a member of the management team.

Ability to communicate with and relate well to elder population, the public and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances. Ability to follow regulations for safe handling of food and service items. Ability to set up dining room table for meals. Ability to take resident's/guest's orders and serve them promptly. Ability to clear tables after meal service. Ability to wash down tables and chairs. Some food service experience is preferred but not necessary.
