JOB SUMMARY

The Emergency Department Physician is responsible for providing immediate medical care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department with acute illnesses or injuries. The ED Physician assesses patients, makes rapid diagnoses, initiates treatment plans, and stabilizes critically ill or injured patients. The ED Physician collaborates with other healthcare professionals, has effective communication skills, and the ability to make quick and accurate decisions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine is appreciated, or board eligibility.
  • Current state medical license and DEA registration.
  • Completion of residency training in Emergency Medicine.
  • ACLS, PALS, and BLS certification. ATLS appreciated.
  • Strong clinical skills in Emergency Medicine and Acute Care including, but not limited to, intubation, laceration repair, and stabilization of orthopedic injuries.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
  • Eligible to participate in Medicare and Medicaid.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a busy emergency department.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and computer proficiency.
  • Willingness to participate in continuing medical education and quality improvement incentives.
Licensures/Certifications:
  • Current MD/DO license in West Virginia.
  • Current DEA license.
  • Current ACLS, PALS, BLS.
