Key Responsibilities: Technical Excellence: Develop accurate and timely material and labor estimates for mechanical building systems, ensuring alignment with project plans and specifications. Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using company format, detail and coding for all CSI division systems for all levels of project documents (Conceptual, schematic, design development and construction development), maintain and improve ability to estimate mechanical, plumbing & fire protection projects, and ensure the development of precise unit costs. Sound knowledge of prices of various types of equipment used in HVAC, PL & FP systems. Experience in handling projects with novel HVAC, PL & FP systems. Client Relations Expert: Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships, presenting budget proposals to owners and architects with finesse. Meticulous Planning: Attend pre-bid meetings, analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing, develop clear clarifications and assumptions, assist with the development of scope of work, and oversee the management of multiple projects concurrently. Manage time and deadlines effectively in accordance with estimating schedules. Innovative Solutions: Develop and analyze value management options, perform technical/plan reviews, and proactively identify and solve construction-related challenges. Prepare ECM (Energy Conservation Methods) analysis and perform Value Engineering and Change Order Management. Requirements: Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, with Masters degree preferred, or equivalent work experience, with dedicated experience in cost estimating for mechanical systems. We will also consider 10 - 12 years of progressive equivalent work experience in a related field. Depending upon the project size, scope, and complexity the years of experience may vary. Industry Knowledge: Expert knowledge of Refrigeration systems, Fluid Mechanics & Control components, various systems in HVAC, and Plumbing & Fire Protection. Expertise with various types of Process Mechanical, HVAC, PL & FP equipment and systems pricing. Estimating & execution Experience in NY DEP Wastewater Treatment Plant projects & Transportation projects for Transits & Airports will be preferred. Management Skills: Outstanding organizational and personnel management skills, strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, along with excellent verbal and written communication abilities for both internal and external priorities. Tech Proficiency: Adept at using estimating software (e.g., MC2), OST software, SAGE, Microsoft Office Suite, word processing, spreadsheets, and relevant bid management tools.
