Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting

Ecovyst Inc is hunting for a Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting for our corporate offices in Malvern, PA.

The Senior Accountant, FinancialReporting, along with the Manager of Financial Reporting, is responsible forthe preparation of all external financial reporting documents of the company,including all filings with the SEC. This position will also have responsibilityover the monthly global consolidation and provide technical accounting supportfor the company's accounting department. The position is located at thecompany's corporate headquarters in Malvern, PA. The Malvern facility iscurrently on a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of three days a week onlocation in the office.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the monthly close of the company's financial statements for internal and external reporting, including the preparation of all financial statements and support for financial statement disclosures, financial analyses of actual results and written summaries of the results for key stakeholders.
  • Assist in managing the monthly global consolidation of the company's subsidiaries.
  • Provide guidance to international reporting staff on basic US GAAP accounting matters and company policies.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual external reporting documents as required to be filed with the SEC, including interactive data exhibits (iXBRL).
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of schedules and supporting materials for the quarterly reviews and annual audit by the internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure internal control processes are executed and documents are maintained for control testing and audit purposes.
  • Assist in the preparation and recording of certain domestic monthly journal entries.
  • Assist in the preparation of certain domestic account reconciliations.
  • Assist with technical research as it relates to SEC and US GAAP guidance and requirements.
  • Assist with special projects, including the implementation of new accounting standards.

In addition to the necessary skillsand experience to perform the responsibilities outlined above, there are anumber of traits that a successful candidate will possess.

Technical
  • The Senior Accountant will be anaccomplished accounting professional with proven financial andfinancial-systems skills, solid business acumen and management ability.Additionally, the candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of corporate accounting experience or combination of public accounting and industry experience.
  • Excellent general accounting skills, thorough working knowledge of US GAAP standards and SEC guidance, and ability to research and document accounting issues.
  • Ability to analyze financial information and prepare reports to management.
  • Experience with SAP FI-CO is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word).
  • Knowledge or experience with cloud-based platforms including Workiva, BlackLine and LeaseQuery is a plus.
