Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, conduct, and teach compliance reviews, inspections, and internal audits to ensure adherence to all applicable environmental permits, rules, and regulations
  • Obtain all environmental permits required for company plants, sites, and projects
  • Assist in ensuring all compliance or monitoring tests are conducted in accordance with timeframes outlined in environmental operation permits
  • Assist in maintaining documentation compliance activities such as inspections, audits, complaints, and investigations verifying information is updated in EMS
  • Report all violations of environmental permits, rules, and regulations to company management personnel and, when required by operational permits, to duly authorized regulatory agencies
  • Keep informed regarding changes to environmental legislation, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact these changes will have on company operations
  • Work with sites and projects to review required documents to ensure ongoing compliance and ensure it is in Environmental Management System (Riskonnect) Manage and attend emissions testing
  • Develop and update environmental-related requirements and procedures
  • Ensure all compliance and annual reports are completed and documented in EMS
  • Inform internal field employees, managers, and outside contractors of company environmental policy, best practices, and compliance requirements
  • Participate in environmental education and research
  • Advise field and middle managers on use of any environmental compliance or reporting tools that are available for them
  • Develop and implement environmental compliance plans for programs such as air quality, stormwater discharges, oil spill prevention or control, recycling, managing hazardous materials, employee education, and so on
  • Track key compliance metrics and implement systems to improve performance
  • Facilitate improvements to and help maintain site Environmental Management System
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree preferred, in environmental science/studies and should have advanced formal training,
  • Position is remote with preference given to those near APG locations and/or major airport
  • Position will need to travel up to 50% of the time to support businesses across the West region while supporting international businesses primarily through electronic methods
