Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant who will play an integral role on the accounting team.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting accounting processes, external financial reporting, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. The Senior Accountant is also responsible for assisting with the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.

Essential Functions for this Role:

  • Oversee month-end close process and manage one to two staff accountants
  • Prepare and review journal entries
  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly general ledger account reconciliations and analysis
  • Research and resolve issues and/or variances in account balances
  • Manage intercompany balances for 30+ entities
  • Maintain fixed asset additions, depreciation, and disposals within the system
  • Review and approve invoices, ensuring that general ledger coding is correct
  • Manage corporate banking including processing corporate payments, investor distributions, deposits, transfers, etc.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial packages
  • Support GL upgrades, improvements, and implementations
  • Work with the financial reporting team and external auditors to provide support for interim and year-end audit requirements
  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting and special projects as needed
  • Reports to:Assistant Controller
  • Note: the position is a hybrid role with a minimum of three days in the Scottsdale office per week (sometimes more during the quarter-end close) as it requires significant interaction with other team members.Ideal Qualifications Include:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • CPA certification or CPA eligibility preferred
  • Public accounting experience is required
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of work experience
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Strong understanding and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Experience with using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlooks
  • Experience with using Sage Intacct or other ERP system is a plus
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
