Position Summary: The Head Golf Professional, under the supervision of the Director of Golf, is responsible for providing all members and guests with high quality customer service in all aspects of interaction. The Head Golf Professional performs the assigned duties such as Manager on Duty, Staff Scheduling, Tournament Management, Staff Training, Hiring, upholding the Discipline Policy, Selling, Marshaling and maintaining the level of standards by which BWYCC upholds. H.S. Degree College Degree* Certification/License* High School Diploma or GED College Degree Preferred CPR certification required within 90 days of employment Minimum three (3) years experience golf course management preferred. - Technical or Administrative Knowledge: Highly proficient in Golf Genius Proficient in Microsoft Office. - Special Skills and Abilities and/or: Class A PGA member in good standing or working towards Class A membership. Ability to demonstrate strong public relations and communications skills. Ability to work under minimum supervision and assume responsibility for initiative and completion of work. Job Functions, Unique Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions include but not limited to the following: Understands and carries out the policies of Bentwater Yacht & Country Club and the Director of Golf. Efficient marshaling and starting of the golf courses, enforcing Bentwater’ s rules and regulations, understanding the BWYCC maintenance program on the golf courses and, where applicable, being involved. Assist in any duties that may arise during the day-to-day operations and, at all times, conduct himself/herself in a professional manner protecting the image of Bentwater Yacht & Country Club. Promoting and maintaining positive Member relations. Assists the Director of Golf in all recruiting and hiring of Assistant Golf Professionals, Player Services and Golf Shop Staff. Responsible for entire Golf Shop and Member Service operations. Create the weekly staff schedules and ensure scheduled hours are within budget. Oversee and ensure the accuracy of the Daily Tee Sheets and all financial transactions. Responsible for the accurate programming of the Daily Tee Sheets and the Club Website Golf Calendar. Train and direct all hourly staff. Ensure uniform compliance among all staff. Oversee the cart fleet management and ensure that all carts are in good condition and working order. Work in conjunction with the Director of Golf to oversee the administration and execution of all Member Tournaments, Outside Tournaments, and Interclub Play. Work with the course maintenance staff in setting up both golf courses for Daily and Tournament play. In the absence of the Director of Golf, be able to perform daily operations of the golf course in an efficient manner. Assist Buyer/Merchandiser in all inventory control and merchandising functions. Maintain a clean and neat appearance at all times while on duty and adhere to the dress code set forth by Bentwater Yacht & Country Club. Class “A” Member of the PGA of America in good standing or actively working towards Class A Membership. Maintain active membership in the Southern Texas PGA section. Represent Bentwater Country Club by playing with Members and competing in Southern Texas PGA section events. Accountable for the ongoing training of all Assistant Professionals and helping them complete all requirements of the GPTP program. Promote and coordinate teaching program at Bentwater Country Club in conjunction with the Director of Golf and Director of Instruction. Conduct golf lessons as time permits. All other duties as assigned by the Director of Golf.
