The HR Benefits Administrator is responsible for planning, implementing, and administering benefit programs and policies including health insurance and all other benefit components. This individual also assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department and provides a high level of customer service to Novinium employees and external partners.
Essential Responsibilities :Plans and administers all aspects of the company's benefits programsExplains and answers employee questions on the 401k plan, health, dental, vision, life, HSAs and FSAsProcesses leave requests for employeesCoordinates posting all federal and state labor regulations at corporate and satellite officesRecommends changes to policies to improve practices and methodsStays current on changing policies and state and federal regulationsManages relationships and acts as the company liaison with insurance companies, third party administrators and other benefits vendorsReconciles monthly insurance billings to ensure accurate deductions, correcting discrepancies and initiating miscellaneous payroll deductionsInitiates Qualified Beneficiary (QB) forms for COBRA eligibility and forwards to TPAPlans and executes the annual Open Enrollment programProvides administrative support to all aspects of Novinium's 401k Plan, assisting employees in program enrollment, ensuring accurate data entry of employee and employer contributionsCoordinates with payroll in responding to and processing unemployment claims received from state agenciesFiles EEO-1 and other required regulatory reportsProvides generic and custom reports from the HR database system as neededContributes to HR policy and procedure development and administrationServes as a resource to management on appropriate issuesPerforms other duties as assigned
Skills & Requirements
Requirements:Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources including experience in employee benefit/insurance administration requiredExperience maintaining and running reports from HR systemsExcellent customer service skillsDemonstrated ability to maintain a high level of trust and confidentialityAbility to function effectively and professionally in difficult and/or conflict situationsAdvanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAccuracy, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projectsAbility to work under pressure to meet deadlinesClear understanding of compliance requirements and federal and state regulations pertaining to programs like COBRA, FMLA, ADA and MedicareBachelor's degree preferred
