Locums Gastroenterology Call Only Springfield, MADates: ASAP to OngoingWhy This Role Provide high-quality inpatient gastroenterology coverage during a physician retirement transition Perform full-scope endoscopic procedures in a collaborative hospital environment Join a well-established team providing adult inpatient GI care with flexible ongoing scheduling Assignment Details Coverage Type: Call Only Setting: Inpatient (Hospital, GI, Endoscopy) Schedule: 24-hour call, approximately 1:4 rotation (Friday 4p-Friday 4p) Start Date: Mid-December 2025 End Date: Ongoing Call Type: Beeper Credentialing: Estimated 30-45 days EMR: Epic Clinical Details Patient Volume: 4-12 per day Patient Population: Adult inpatient only Consult Types: Floor, ED, ICU, and emergent GI consults Required Procedures: - Upper GI Endoscopy (diagnostic, therapeutic, biopsy, PEG, foreign body removal, variceal banding/injection, fulguration) - Esophageal Dilatation and Manometry - Small Bowel Biopsy - Lower GI Endoscopy (Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy, Liver Biopsy) EUS/ERCP: Not required Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology Active Massachusetts medical license Certification: BLS required ERCP certification preferred but not required Compensation Rates: Facility is accepting bids Malpractice: Provided Travel: Reimbursed
