The Applied Companies is seeking a motivated Payroll Processor/Bookkeeper for our Carson City client. Your day will be spent working with their close-knit team and will hold a critical role in processing multiple payrolls for a variety of different clients. This is not a traditional in-house payroll; it is a unique consultative function at a leading Accounting Practice where all your skills will expand and allow you to continue growing.

What the Payroll Clerk/Bookkeeper will do:

  • Complete payroll functions including but not limited to: terminations, time sheets, hours, pay rate changes, tax changes, wage garnishments, deductions, direct deposits, benefit adjustments and refunds, various other input, etc.
  • Review, verify and enter payroll data in a timely manner.
  • Issue reports and process payroll checks for distribution.
  • Strive to maintain 99.99% accuracy when processing payroll for all clients.
  • Maintenance of client and worksite employee payroll records and files.
  • Conduct light accounting functions using QuickBooks and other accounting solutions.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Respond to routine inquiries concerning payroll, garnishments, verifications, etc., as well as required state reporting forms.
  • Prepare and distribute W-2's at year's end.
  • Conduct electronic banking daily.
  • Conduct various business correspondences.
  • Complete transaction entry, bookkeeping tasks, and bank reconciliation functions for multiple clients and accounts.
What the Payroll Clerk/Bookkeeper will need to have:
  • 2+ years of end-to-end payroll processing
  • Payroll Professional Certifications (CPP) a PLUS
  • Multistate payroll is preferred
  • Strong customer service or account management experience
  • Excellent MS Office experience
