The Role:

This job is challenging but rewarding -caring for people at home requires patience, resilience, and heart. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that go beyond traditional caregiving, and it will require a high level of commitment. You'll be there during their most vulnerable moments, providing essential care and companionship. But the rewards are truly invaluable, and the gratitude and smiles from those you help will deeply touch your heart. You'll help our clients stay where they belong, and that impact is profound.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Personal Care: Assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene. Be prepared for occasional accidents and discomforts, including dealing with incontinence.
  • Mobility Support: Helping with movement, whether it's transferring from bed to wheelchair or providing assistance during walks. This will require physical strength and the ability to handle potentially challenging situations.
  • Medication Management: Administering medications according to a strict schedule and ensuring compliance. You'll need to stay vigilant about potential side effects and interactions.
  • Household Duties: Performing light housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry. Understand that these tasks are secondary to the primary caregiving responsibilities but still crucial for maintaining a clean and functional living environment.
  • Emotional Support: Providing companionship, engaging in conversation, and offering comfort during times of distress. This will involve managing emotional ups and downs, and sometimes dealing with resistance or frustration.
  • Emergency Situations: Responding to medical emergencies and unforeseen incidents. You must be prepared for the unexpected and have the ability to stay calm under pressure.

  • Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience, but typically between $18-$20/hr. along with benefits where applicable.
What We Need From You:
  • A Valid (NJS) HHA Certification
  • Valid ID and Social Security Card
  • PPD within the past 9 months or chest x-ray within 5 years
  • 2 Work or Professional References
  • Warmth, compassion, patience, trustworthiness, and an upbeat and confident personality with strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills
  • If Covid Vaccinated please provide your vaccination card
Compensation: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
