Description

Concord Engineering Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Voorhees office to work in our Commercial/Hospitality Department. This senior-level position will be the lead role in designing electrical systems for our various clients within the Commercial/Hospitality market. You will be required to sign and seal the drawings. You will also manage, mentor, and direct the design team as well as work directly with the client to execute project objectives in a timely and efficient manner. In addition, you will provide support in staffing utilization and needs, proposal writing, and meeting attendance.

The responsibilities of this position include: Responsible as Engineer of Record signing and sealing drawings for projects under your direction and supervision. Provide direction and perform periodic reviews of engineers' work under your direction throughout the project as well as Independent Design Review (IDR) of other engineers' work not directly under your supervision. Provide overall engineer direction for your discipline for projects assigned to you Perform engineering calculations, prepare single line diagrams, sizing of electrical components and equipment, conduct short circuit analysis where required, and prepare technical specifications. Review projects regularly to ensure departmental standards and requirements are consistent with client requirements and the project budget. Perform design, layout, and checking of electrical systems drawings and ensure the technical correctness of the drawings by using the applicable job, federal, state, and local standards and codes. Perform site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings, and provide field construction support, as required. Implement training development of engineers, designers, and draftspersons as assigned to your projects. Assist in proposal development, client management, and overall project execution.

Position Requirements

Desired skills and experience: BS in Electrical Engineering Minimum 10 years of professional experience with proven progression in Electrical engineering and design of building electrical systems. Experience in executing a design project with Autodesk Autocad or Revit and implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM). Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required. Must be knowledgeable of local, state, and national code requirements. Must have experience/working knowledge of lighting and electrical load analysis software. Knowledgeable of the USGBC LEED Rating system and standards is a plus. Must be a good time manager, comfortable with frequent deadlines and transitions. Effective at working with other staff members in a fast-paced environment. Must have excellent communication skills to effectively communicate complex ideas and have strong technical writing skills and technical documentation skills with the ability to prepare presentations and reports. Able to read, write, speak and understand English.
