Associate Director Clinical Services (Mental Health Services) Student Health and Well-Being Mental Health Services seeks an experienced, organized, and mission-driven Associate Director of Clinical Services to lead within a dynamic and fast?paced system focused on delivering innovative mental health care and supporting the well?being of a diverse community of learners. The Associate Director leads the day?to?day operations of the Mental Health Services East Baltimore clinic, collaborating closely with the Clinical Services Team to ensure smooth clinical operations and equitable, culturally responsive care. They are responsible for access strategy, scheduling and allocation of initial consultations and intake visits, and monitoring clinician practice to guidelines. The role requires substantial cross?site collaboration with supervisors of clinical staff to ensure multidimensional supervision, timely feedback, and support for professional growth. Key Responsibilities Lead clinical operations of the East Baltimore clinic and oversee schedule templates and performance targets for clinicians. Advise administrative staff and clinicians on clinical decision?making, scheduling conflicts, coverage, customer service, and coordination with BHCST for hospitalization facilitation. Participate in multi?disciplinary clinical and administrative teams including clinic staff meetings, case consultation, high?risk case consultation, peer chart reviews, medical leave review, accreditation, and other committees. Collaborate with the MHS leadership team to ensure consistent clinic flow and equitable distribution of duties. Contribute to the development and maintenance of clinical policies, procedures, and written materials to support effective clinic operations. Support onboarding and training plans for East Baltimore clinical staff and provide training to staff at other locations as appropriate. Manage direct reports, including goal setting, performance evaluations, performance management, and related HR processes; provide multi?dimensional supervision to all clinicians. Lead or participate in provider searches and recruitment processes and contribute to MHS?wide recruitment and hiring. Lead and contribute to staff development, engagement, and teambuilding activities for East Baltimore staff and larger MHS?wide events. Create a warm, welcoming clinical environment and provide culturally responsive direct clinical services when demand is high. Utilize flexible goal?oriented approaches to individual treatment, including CBT, DBT, and IPT, often in collaboration with psychiatry providers. Collaborate with providers within SHWB as an interdisciplinary treatment team and consult with community providers to facilitate continuity of care. Serve as liaison to primary care at East Baltimore and to school?based CARE teams. Participate in outreach, educational activities, resource fairs, community meetings, and training for JHU faculty, staff, and students. Provide didactic training, consultation, and seminars; stay abreast of current literature and research. Contribute to MHS leadership team activities and clinical services strategic planning. Other duties as assigned. Working Conditions 37.5 hour/week position. Evening and weekend work required depending on programmatic needs. One day of remote work standard; additional remote days may be required. Required Attendance Employee; may need to work during university closures. Minimum Qualifications Masters Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work from an accredited institution. Minimum of 5 years of post?licensure clinical experience. Minimum of 2 years of clinical supervisory experience. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory role responsible for employee management and evaluation. Licensed as a mental health provider in the required jurisdiction(s); if licensed elsewhere must obtain required license within 6 months of hire. Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma as permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral Degree (Ph.D., Psy.D., DSW, or relevant terminal degree). Experience with APA?approved training programs as a clinical supervisor and familiarity with accreditation requirements for APA?approved internships. Clinical experience in a university setting.
