Full Time- Stroke/Trauma Coordinator - Day Shift

Education / Experience:

Graduate from an accredited RN program

Master's Degree preferred

Minimun of 5 years of experience working in a critical care setting, ER setting or neurointensive care setting.

Experience with adult learning and teaching principles.

Licensure / Certification:

Current Georgia RN license or eNLC licensure

ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Advanced Stroke Life Support certification (ASLS) - a plus

Duties and Responsibilities Coordinates the stroke program and future trauma program for Stephens County Hospital Collects and analyses on-going data regarding program outcomes (stroke and trauma) Submits required data to the State and other regulatory agencies as required or requested Maintains clinical knowledge and skills for the stroke patient population Facilitates and performs on-going staff education for all levels and departments as needed for both stroke and trauma Identifies opportunities to promote stroke awareness through community outreach. Resource to the hospital for care of the stroke and trauma patient. Attends required meetings with state and local stroke Coordinates staff education in collaboration with the unit nurse leaders and clinical educator. Acts as a liaison between other healthcare partners for both programs Participates in stroke alerts to ensure protocols are followed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Familiar with the AHA guidelines, state guidelines for remote stroke and level IV Trauma Leading and participating in performance improvement processes Assists with budget development and capital equipment needs. Development of course curriculum for staff education and understands adult learning principles Must possess the following: * Organizational skills * Communication skills * Interpersonal skills * Customer experience skills * Analytical skills * Grammar/spelling * Read/comprehend written instructions, policies, procedures, etc. * Follow verbal instructions * Transcription * Basic Computer skills * Microsoft Office skills.
