Job Description:
Responsible for cleaning, organizing, and stocking anesthesia machines and charts daily and in between cases.
Completes inspections and calibrations, as required.
Changes soda lime and replaces empty gas cylinders, when necessary.
Replaces sharps containers when full.
Ensures an adequate supply of donuts and elbow protectors.
Ensures supplies are rotated and monitored for outdates and obsolescence.
Maintains blood warmers in the Operating Room in ready condition with warming core set, IV set, infusion bag, and pressure pump on IV pole.
Ensures adequate stock and equipment on the emergency anesthesia supply cart.
Stocks labor and delivery epidural cart.
Maintains malignant hyperthermia cart for supplies and outdates.
Maintains and cleans the Difficult Intubation cart.
Assists the Inventory Specialist gather and return cases and put away inventory.
Maintains transport oxygen and ambu bags on anesthesia machines and in halls for transport.
Acts as a liaison between anesthesia and Operating Room personnel. Qualifications:
Hight school diploma or GED
2-3 years of recent experience; Previous Operating Room or hospital experience
Graduate of accredited, competency-based program in Anesthesia technology
BLS
Active state license
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism when interacting with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff members.
