POSITION SUMMARY

The Fiber Network Product Engineer is the internal support to customers and outside sales responsible for overseeing the development, launch, and lifecycle management of our fiber optics product portfolio, answering technical and product questions, maintaining current specifications, producing quotes, maintaining data in the CRM, and assisting with customer forecasting. The Fiber Network Product Engineer is directly and indirectly charged with assisting in growing the Infrastructure/ International and distribution business through these efforts.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

1. Product Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for the fiber optics product line, aligning it with the company's overall goals and market demands.

2. Market Research: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape in the fiber optics industry.

3. Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and manufacturing, to develop innovative and reliable fiber optics products that meet customer requirements and regulatory standards. Maintain the specifications and participate the process to develop and publish specifications within the scope of our QMS systems.

4. Product Launch: Coordinate and manage the successful launch of new fiber optics products, including creating marketing materials, sales training, and go-to-market strategies.

5. Product Lifecycle Management: Monitor the performance of existing fiber optics products, analyze sales data, and make data-driven decisions to optimize product lifecycle management and identify opportunities for improvement.

6. Customer Relationship: Engage with customers to understand their needs, gather feedback, and build strong relationships to ensure continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

7. Pricing and Profitability: Develop pricing strategies that are competitive and align with market trends while maintaining profitability targets.

8. Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to provide product expertise, training, and support to achieve sales targets and enhance customer understanding of our fiber optics product offerings.

9. Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations related to fiber optics products, ensuring all products are compliant with relevant certifications.

10. Forecasting and Budgeting: Develop accurate sales forecasts and manage the budget for the fiber optics product line, ensuring efficient resource allocation and financial performance.

Education

* High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business preferred

Experience

* Two to three years of experience in the Fiber Optics industry working with Outside Plant construction or product distribution, preferred.* Two to three years of inside Fiber Product Management experience, preferred

Computer Skills

* Knowledge in Microsoft AX, Salesforce, AutoCAD or Solidworks a plus.* Computer literate in a Microsoft Windows environment.* Intermediate level of experience using Microsoft Excel. Must have the ability to perform functions such as creating a spreadsheet, formatting a spreadsheet, using the formula bar to perform various functions, Pivot Table, Vlookup, importing/exporting documents, and calculating numbers.* Intermediate level of experience using Microsoft Outlook. Must have the ability to perform functions such as composing, sending, forwarding and replying to incoming e-mail, attaching computerized files, and utilizing calendar and task reminders.* Intermediate level of experience using Microsoft Word. Must have the ability to perform functions such as composing, editing, naming and saving documents, formatting text, and printing.* Intermediate level of experience using Microsoft PowerPoint. Must have the ability to perform functions such as creating presentations, adding new slides, previewing a presentation, using graphic images from various sources, adding animation, applying a template, adding slide transitions, using outlines and the drawing toolbar.
