Head of Product & Engineering, Field Services Group

Fullsteam is seeking a Product & Engineering leader to support our Field Services Group. This role reports directly to the Group President.

The Head/Director of Product & Engineering will play a pivotal role in leading and guiding product development and software engineering teams to deliver high-quality software products in alignment with the company's strategic objectives. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of software development and product management, from concept to delivery. You will work with leadership and other internal stakeholders to build out product strategy and lead engineering teams to deliver the roadmap.

The right candidate will have the ability to define B2B SaaS customer needs in various Field Services markets, understand product requirements, define product roadmaps to meet customer needs and enhance market competitiveness, and lead engineering teams to deliver. This leader will have demonstrated expertise in developing scalable cloud-based products, with comprehensive proficiency in front-end, back-end, cloud, payments, and infrastructure technologies. This role requires advanced communication, strategic execution, and people management skills.

Functional Objectives: Be a strategic thought partner to the Group President and leadership team and play an instrumental role in defining product and engineering strategy and execution. Drive the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch. Align and optimize product roadmaps and engineering resources across multiple business units. Deliver products and services tooling that improve the Group's competitive posture and drives organic business growth and strong payments attachment. Manage and resource the team and focus on code delivery, velocity, and quality. Own and manage holistic technology, testing, and QA environments to ensure stability and scalability. Audit current technology stack to identify opportunities, remediate risks, and build a scalable platform for the future.

Primary Responsibilities : Understand product capabilities and differentiation for each business unit within the FSM Group; study the market space in which each business unit operates, conducting regular SWOT analysis. Make product strategy and enhancement recommendations based on research and analysis and projected ROI. Define customer needs by collaborating with each business unit to solicit user feedback. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams for new product GTM strategy and execution. Monitor product metrics to evaluate performance and customer usability. Provide team with clear objectives and tasks to deliver projects on time and on budget. Identify and clearly communicate product and engineering opportunities and risks to leadership in business terms.

Communications & Planning: Collaborate with senior management to define the software and product development strategy for a group of vertically related business units. Align software development and product roadmaps with the company's overall business goals. Strong communicator with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams, ensuring alignment with business goals and market demands. Proactively communicate with prospects, partners, and colleagues. Communicate complex ideas, systems, and strategies in business terms. Acts with customers in mind; establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.

Software Engineering: Oversee software architecture, design, and development, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Implement best practices, methodologies, and technologies to improve software development processes. Deliver projects on time and on budget. Manage budgets, resource allocation, and project timelines. Manage technology vendor relationships and own R&D expense management. Establish and maintain quality assurance and testing procedures to ensure software products meet high-quality standards. Identify potential risks and challenges in software development and product delivery and proactively address them. Collaborate deeply with Fullsteam payments technology teams. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for software and product development teams. Regularly report on progress and areas for improvement to senior management. Adept at implementing automation best practices, streamlining workflows, and architecting robust, testable solutions.

Qualifications

: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Prior leadership experience in managing software engineering and product development teams. Experience in building and launching SaaS and payments products. A strong track record of successful product launches. Deep technical knowledge and understanding of software development methodologies, technologies, and trends. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies. Relevant industry certifications.
