Security Guard Position This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation for positions in the competitive service. This position serves as a Security Guard at Pine Bluff Arsenal. Responsibilities include vetting of visitors entering an installation, incident response, operation of security-related equipment, and physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access and ensure continuity of operations. To qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized experience is defined as one year of experience at the GS-05 level or equivalent with a federal, state, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved the protection of property against hazards such as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life. Such experience must have provided a knowledge of protective systems and techniques. Education cannot substitute for experience. Additional information includes requirements for proof of U.S. Citizenship, a pre-employment certification statement for selective service registration for male applicants born after December 31, 1959, and a one-year trial/probationary period. Direct deposit of pay is required and selection is subject to restrictions resulting from the Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Career Program (CP) 19 - Security and Law Enforcement position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. The position includes bonuses such as built-in overtime, night differential pay, Sunday premium pay, an initial uniform allowance, and quarterly uniform allowances after the first year. Pine Bluff Arsenal, AR, requires a REAL ID compliant identification for base access.
