IT SAP Business Analyst

A staff position in the Information Technology organization serving as a liaison and IT relationship manager to one or more business units. The Business Analyst understands the business processes they support as well as the technology behind it. It is important to know all integration points between SAP and non-SAP systems when supporting the business processes. The Business Analyst is responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives that drive efficiency and value back into the business. They will work with business to create business justifications, gather requirements, design, develop/configuration, unit test, work with business to create test scripts, perform integration testing with the functional leads, training, support, and create/update process flow documentation. They are also responsible for participating in projects to implement work efforts by completing their tasks and applying project management principles to keep tasks on track and contribute to the overall success of the project.

IT SAP Business Analyst Responsibilities

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
Experience in application development or SAP configuration. Expertise in Sales & Distribution module is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
3-5 years' experience in the below activities:
IT or related business function.
System configuration for SAP Sales & Distribution module specifically around Order Management, Billing, Pricing, Sales Deals.
Applying project management principles to organize, track, and complete tasks you are responsible for according to plan.
Experience using software development life cycle (SDLC): requirements definition, design, development/configuration, test, implementation and support.
Test planning and execution. This includes working with business to identify all business scenarios to test along with writing detail scripts to test each scenario.
Documenting business and IT processes through interviews with users to understand process steps for SAP and non-SAP systems that support assigned process.
Adhere to established IT governance process to engage resources and prioritize work.
Document business and IT processes using appropriate methods and tools.
Support assigned system modules and process. Includes troubleshooting issues and researching continuous improvement opportunities.
Lead requirements gathering sessions, analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of assigned system modules and projects. Includes hands on configuration to drive SAP functionality as well as interacting with development team.
Lead integration testing conversion and deployment activities.
Assist in training user personnel in the testing, conversion and implementation of the systems alongside the functional leads. Support training development and delivery as needed.
Prepare system configuration and process documentation as required.
Promote effective use of assigned system modules in solving business problems and improving business processes.
Participate in on-going education and training to stay informed of the latest functional in applying SAP to resolve business issues.
Utilize project management principles to execute assigned tasks.
Communicate with the business and IT team members as they work to implement projects and enhancements.
Expand upon understanding of processes and working with the key people that make decisions in order to develop the reputation as a trusted business partner.
Uncover root causes and guide conversation to a conclusion that is best for the business.
Participate and lead cross-functional teams and seek to understand upstream and downstream impacts when implementing solutions. Involve other business and IT Team members to understand, document, and communicate impacts to process.
