The lead barista will ensure all standards have been met in accordance with Thompson standards and provide a welcoming and clean environment for guests. shift lead at a coffee and bakery is responsible for overseeing the smooth operations of the establishment during their designated shift. They must possess strong leadership skills and have a deep understanding of coffee and bakery products. By taking on the role of shift lead, the individual will play an integral part in creating a positive and memorable experience for customers, while contributing to the success and growth of the coffee and bakery establishment.

•Supervising and leading a team of baristas and bakery staff, ensuring they adhere to company policies and procedures.

•Managing daily operations such as opening and closing duties, cash handling, and inventory management.

•Ensuring exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, addressing their needs, and resolving any issues that may arise.

•Training and mentoring new employees, ensuring they are knowledgeable about the menu offerings and can deliver high-quality products.

•Monitoring product quality and consistency to maintain the highest standards.

•Collaborating with management to develop and implement strategies to increase sales, improve customer experience, and optimize efficiency.

•Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including equipment and storage areas.

•Adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of ingredients.

•Ability to Open/Close establishment

•All other duties as assigned by leadership

•Previous experience in a coffee and bakery setting, preferably in a supervisory role.

•Strong knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, espresso preparation, and bakery products.

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate a team.

•Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

•Strong problem-solving abilities to address customer complaints or operational issues.

•Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

•Knowledge of food safety regulations and willingness to follow proper hygiene practices.

•Basic computer skills for utilizing point of sale systems and other business software.
