The financial analyst is responsible for performing a variety of financial activities including assisting with annual budgeting and financial planning processes, along with performing research and analysis. This position also assists with financial and asset and liability management monthly reporting. This is a hybrid/St. Louis position Job Responsibilities The intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibilities required of this position and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills. Team members may be directed to perform job-related tasks others than those specifically stated in this description. Prepares functional cost analysis on Credit Union products. Assists with operation of the asset and liability management (ALM) and budget management systems to include obtaining data, making statistical assumptions, and reporting results regarding ALM, budget, and 3-year plan. Assists in budgeting and planning processes of the organization. Assists in preparing reports and analyzing branch profitability. Creates analysis at request of management to assist with decision making process. Maintains accounting database and develops “data mining” techniques that allow timely response to management requests for comparative or variance analysis of the financial information. Assists management with preparing for various committee packets and meetings as it pertains to Asset Liability Committee (ALCO), Interest Rate Committee, and Liquidity Committee. Maintains subsidiary records and posts data to the general ledger; maintains and balances the investment portfolio and prepares month end reports for management. Prepares various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management. Assists in analyzing and preparing income and expense accounts for budget variances. Promotes a positive relationship between the members (internal and external) and the Credit Union and understands that service delivery to members is the number one priority of the Credit Union. Required Qualifications An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. High school diploma Minimum of 3 years of related experience Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s) A representation of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform this job competently. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and VLOOKUP required; Macros preferred) Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills Good verbal and written communications skills Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize multiple tasks to accommodate strict deadlines. Some familiarity with Profitstar ALM software preferred. Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, The Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of this job’s functions. Hybrid remote and in-office setting; general office environment when in-office.
