Substation Design Engineer

We're seeking a Substation Design Engineer to join our team in New Orleans, Louisiana. As part of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and optimizing medium to extra high voltage utility substations. Here's what you'll be doing:
- Project Oversight:You'll provide project oversight, ensuring seamless execution and timely delivery. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and communicate project progress effectively.
- Detailed Design:Dive into the nitty-gritty Create one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA systems, and more. Your expertise will shape the physical layout of substations, including conduit and cable routing.
- Equipment Selection:From switchgear to MCCs (Motor Control Centers), you'll select the right equipment to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Proposal Development:Craft compelling proposals that showcase our capabilities and win exciting projects.
- Construction Cost Estimates:Crunch the numbers Estimate construction costs accurately to keep projects on track.
- Project Scheduling:Keep the wheels turning. Develop and manage project schedules to meet deadlines.
- Education:Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Understand project budgeting and forecasting.
- 3-5+ years of experience in the Power & Utilities industry.
- Substation Expertise:3-5+ years of substation engineering experience
- P&C (Protection & Control): Familiarity with P&C systems is a big plus.
- Experience working with MCCs(Motor Control Centers) , switchgear, and related equipment is essential.
