What Were Looking For Iridium is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join the team developing a state?of?the?art satellite ground system and user equipment for the companys satellite?based position, navigation, and timing (PNT) services. As a Scrum Master, you will support multiple development teams on an exciting new effort already underway. In this role, you will focus primarily on identifying and implementing ideas and solutions in support of delivering high?quality software that meets our customers critical needs. You will also work as part of the projects software development team, and provide Agile?specific best practice guidance, specifically in support of running Scrum and Kanban. What Youll Do Be responsible for managing and executing backlog refining sessions for sprint teams, and provide recommendations based on metrics evaluated utilizing Agile processes Collaborate with the Product Owners and Scrum Teams on requirements decomposition, backlog grooming and refinement, and story prioritization Work with the customer to understand their priorities and ensure development team works stories according to the customer priority Manage JIRA board and backlog for sprint execution and burn down reports Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress; maintain process documentation Update physical and electronic Agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product backlogs and in?progress work, supporting Development Managers and Project/Product Managers as necessary Play a key role in ensuring that development teams are practicing and following core Agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility Investigate and recommend continuous process improvement, including active facilitation of reviews and retrospectives and incorporation of lessons learned for future sprints Identify and elicit each areas needs and opportunity for change via the enhancement process Drive planning preparation efforts with the development of high?level designs with all business rules, limitations and assumptions thoroughly documented What Youll Need to Succeed Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information, or related field 5+ years of related software development life cycle experience Working knowledge and experience in Agile, specifically Scrum and Kanban Knowledge and experience using the Atlassian tool suite Demonstrated ability to train and overcome obstacles Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently present products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions or come up with solutions Be comfortable managing upward, including being a proactive communicator and asking for help when needed Must be able to prioritize key tasks and have a strong sense of ownership over your work Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification Working knowledge and/or certification in SAFe methodology Experience leading release and sprint planning Experience leading scrum of scrums Experience working in Jira Well also need you to This position directly performs under, supports, or is exposed to a U.S. government contract. To comply with the requirements of that U.S. government contract, applicants for this position must be U.S. citizens Be able to work in the office at least 3 days a week to foster collaboration with the team and stakeholders Be able to travel up to 10% Work Environment This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer. The role typically requires the use of basic office equipment such as a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
