Network Engineer - Juniper Hardware
This position will be based in the Atlanta Metro area

TekCom Resources is currently recruiting for Network Engineers in a Telecom environment (broadband).

Qualifications:

Must have 5+ years of Juniper experience, understanding of Juniper hardware SRX, MX, EX and QFXs

Strong understanding of network protocols to include TCP/IP and L2 and L3 switches

Experience installing and connecting firewalls

Role: The position will help build and deploy our client's networks. With a focus on ensuring high reliability, this engineer will design and test new platforms and solutions while also acting as an escalation point for the Network Engineering Operations team.

Role

  • Responsible for implementing and supporting our clients access, metro, and core networks.
  • Responsible for working with internal groups and external partners in the design, acceptance testing, and production implementation for all infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with vendors, customers, and outside organizations.
  • Prepare written reports and other technical documentation necessary to communicate ideas, concepts, and details necessary to accomplish specific goals
  • Analyze chronic network imperfections for root cause source and recommend any appropriate corrective actions. Implement fix/correction as directed
  • Contribute to the definition of operational and support requirements for new network related technologies and products

What it will take to catch our eye
5+ years of Network Engineering experience with excellent knowledge of Juniper network equipment.

Key Skills
Strong knowledge with configuration of Juniper and Cisco routers and switches in an ISP environment. Understanding of various layer 1, layer 2 and layer 3 protocols and technologies: TCP/IP (v4 & v6) and related protocols, MPLS experience helpful. Strong understanding of Internet Protocols and interior/exterior routing protocols (e.g., ISIS, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, Multicast, IPv6). Excellent understanding of ACLs, prefix lists, firewalls, and knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and IP Management
