Job Summary:
The Talent Acquisition and Retention Specialist supports talent acquisition across Walter USA and subsidiaries by collaborating effectively with regional Human Resources management and hiring managers to attract, recruit and retain high performing individuals while supporting benefits and payroll functions.

Responsibilities:
Proactively identify staffing needs by maintaining close relationships with department managers and Human Resources colleagues.
Manage full-cycle recruitment from job description compilation and posting to development of onboarding plan with hiring managers, training, and HR.

Collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand their needs, challenges, and operations in order to develop a customized strategy for candidate attraction and assessment.
Screen applications, select best candidates for pre-screening interview, and present to managers for in-depth interviews. Complement candidate pool through internal and/or external sourcing activities if required.
Based on position requirements, ideal candidate profile and company culture develop thorough interview guide and evaluation grid; offer support during interviews based on requirements.
Ensure selected candidates meet the hiring criteria for the position, including skills and experience, compensation, long-term potential with the organization.

Build and foster relationships with external staffing agencies for temporary staffing needs.
Proactively develop a strong internal and external pipeline of diverse talent for future hiring needs through participation in job fairs, relationships with schools or professional associations
Establish strong relationships with employees and develop a complete calendar of engagement activities to foster a good working culture.
Assist employees and managers in their Human Resources inquiries and answer questions about benefits, payroll and company policies.
Develop a clear vision of employee value proposition to be ahead of the market and clearly articulate why candidates should choose Walter versus competition
Always ensure candidate and employee experience remains a priority during interactions
Create and maintain employee acquisition and retention KPIs.
Oversee compliance to ensure brand, process, and legal requirements are upheld throughout the recruitment and hiring process.
Support local Human Resources activities such as payroll, benefit administration, employee relationships etc.
Implement approved new plans or changes by preparing communications materials, holding employee meetings. Review plan documents, booklets and other materials with carriers to ensure legal compliance with Federal/State laws.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated track record or success in establishing and maintaining good relationships with colleagues as well as with internal and external customers and partners.
General knowledge and understanding of benefits and payroll functions and processes.
Able to set priorities, multi-task, and work efficiently in a team environment responding and pivoting to competing priorities and timelines.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to act independently.
General understanding of employment laws and best practices in the US.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office, social media platforms, and candidate sourcing is required. Direct experience with payroll system is desirable.
Absolute discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information required.

Experience & Education:
Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology, Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years of benefits, payroll and recruiting experience; in-depth knowledge of recruiting practices and techniques.
Experience in recruiting Sales and Manufacturing candidates an asset.
Experience with sourcing external candidates active too passive for specific positions with specific skillsets & experience. LinkedIn Recruiter experience considered an asset.

Physical Activities and Demands:
1. This position is a sedentary position with the majority of time sitting. It requires the ability to move around the office and building to meet with employees, vendors, etc., and to access files.
2. This position requires the following abilities:
a. Finger Dexterity: Working primarily with the fingers to make small movements such as typing.
b. Talking: To convey detailed and/or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
c. Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive detailed information.
d. Repetitive Motions: Movements frequently and regularly required using wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
3. This position requires close visual acuity to perform such tasks as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing information; viewing a computer terminal.
4. This position is office based and therefore there are no adverse environmental conditions present.
