Position Summary: The Senior Process Engineer for New Client Launch is responsible for developing and implementing production workflows for new business opportunities. This entails discussing product details with customers, generating workflows, determining required production equipment, calculating cycle times and run rates, readying the factory lines for prototype and production assembly and improving production processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Client Engagement: Direct the success of new client launches, ensuring alignment with client goals and Futabas growth objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, including technical users, champions, and senior executives. Facilitate executive-level engagement to align on project progress, strategic value, and opportunities for growth. Partner with Sales to identify and execute commercial opportunities by leveraging insights from early successes. Operational Excellence: Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and quality products. Manage operational relationships, resolving issues proactively and ensuring high client satisfaction. Oversee the development and documentation of best practices, playbooks, and lessons learned to standardize success across accounts. Requirements 5+ years of SMT process engineering experience Automation engineering would be a plus Strong background in root cause analysis, SPC methodology and disciplined documentation. Familiarity with IPC-A-610; exposure to IATF 16949 and/orAS9100 preferred. Proven leader managing teams in customer success Strong experience in driving measurable client outcomes and meeting deadlines for deeper partnerships and growth. Exceptional communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of an organization. Adaptable and effective in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. Experience and Educational Requirements: Bachelors degree (B.S.) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. 5+ years in electronic manufacturing preferred 2+years with new customer facing experience to launch new business MRP such as CSI Intermediate skills in MS Office-PowerPoint, Excel, Word Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability Requirements: Proven ownership of stencil design, including Gerber review, aperture strategy, step stencils, and release studies. Hands-on experience with flex and rigid-flex assemblies: coverlay, stiffeners, ZIF/FPC connectors, and dynamic bend constraints. Reflow profiling expertise for polyimide/flex assemblies (low z-axis pressure fixturing, controlled soak, minimal warpage). Voiding control practices for BTCs (QFN/DFN) on flex and metal-core hybrids. Conformal coat/mask design for flexing zones. Design and validate solder paste stencils (aperture reductions, windowpane/thieving, step-downs/ups, nano-coatings) to hit first-pass yield targets. Create/maintain process documentation: print parameters, placement programs, reflow recipes, AOI criteria, and work instructions Troubleshoot defects (insufficient solder, HIP, voiding, tombstoning, opens/shorts, skew, pad cratering) using SPC Support NPI, ECNs, and transfers; mentor operators/techs; collaborate with QA on control plans and PPAP as needed. Experience working with step-stencil vendors, nano-coatings, Type 5/6 solder pastes, and ultra-fine pitch (?0.4 mm BGA/WLCSP). Strong written communication skills: Ability to read and write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Strong verbal communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers. Strong organizational skills and detail oriented. Intermediate math skills with ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
