Job SummaryThe Medical Assistant is responsible for obtaining patient records and test results, preparing treatment rooms for examinations and assists our practitioners during medical procedures.Essential Functions:Room patients and updating patient information into EMR systemTranscribe for providers during examsAssist with biopsies and select surgical proceduresEducate patients on treatment plansAssist with cosmetic proceduresComplete prior authorizations for prescriptions, biologics, and proceduresStock rooms with necessary suppliesReport biopsy, culture and/or lab results to patients via phone if directed by providerSanitize all work areas throughout the day and after each patientSend patient visit notes to referring provider/PCPAnswer incoming calls when not in a room with a providerAssist office staff with front end tasks if neededOther duties as assigned RequirementsEducation, Skills, and Experience:High School Diploma requiredMust have certification from a Medical Assistant Program1-3 years of relevant medical / surgical practice experienceProfessional attitude and appearanceSolid written and verbal communication skillsAbility to be resourceful and proactive when issues ariseExcellent organizational skillsMultitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasksCustomer service attitudeExperience with practice management software (ie EMA) and Microsoft Office Word and ExcelPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of standing and walking.Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
