The HT Group has partnered with a world-class integrated polymers facility in Orange, Texas in search of a CSU EHSS Coordinator. This is a contract position estimated to last 3 years.

Position Overview:
  • Provide leadership and technical direction to ensure the required EHSS personnel, work processes, and procedures are in place to support the safe transition of the GTP site from construction, through commissioning and startup and into an operating facility.
  • Work with stakeholders in OSBL, Ethylene, Polyethylene, Rail, Pipeline and Occupied Buildings to ensure the EHSS needs within each of the areas are met while also addressing site wide EHSS issues and driving a consistent approach to EHSS across the GTP site.

  • Full-time onsite in Orange, Texas
Responsibilities:
  • Define Roles: Clearly define roles, responsibilities, and qualifications for each EHSS resource
  • Acquire Resources: Ensure employees capture learning opportunities with engaging resources to achieve goals
  • Collaborate: Mentor and coach, Assign and schedule EHSS resources to required task and activities
  • Develop EHSS Transition Plan: Lead the creation of a Safety (EHSS) transition plan
  • Orientations and Training: Ensure all personnel are trained
  • Ownership Transition: Establish CSU/Operations ownership of equipment and areas
  • Operational Practices: Update safe work practices for the transition phase, considering the higher number of workers and ongoing construction
  • Identify EHSS Equipment: Lead the identification and procurement of in-plant EHSS equipment for CSU/Operations
  • Engage Vendors/Contractors: Identify and assist in securing EHSS CSU vendors and contractors
  • Nuclear Gauges: Ensure safety programs, secure storage, and procedures for nuclear gauges
  • LDAR: Identify, plan, and install LDAR tags; coordinate baseline readings
  • EHSS Materials: Identify and procure necessary EHSS materials for CSU
  • Acceptance & Turnover: Infinity, train and coordinate personnel for walkdowns
  • Reporting: Provide 4 box reports for assigned CSU macro plan activities
Qualifications:
  • Petrochemical or refining experience (ideally 15+ years, but less experience will be considered).
  • Understands the differences / nuances between construction, CSU, and operational safety to be able to lead safety (EHSS) in transition.
Preferred:
  • Experience with safety (EHSS) in transition planning and execution.
  • Operations or Maintenance Experience.
  • Commissioning and Start-Up Experience.
  • Post-secondary education in the form of an operations certificate, trade certification, relevant engineering degree or EHSS professional designation.
