The Licensed Behavioral Health Staff is an active member of the Mobile Response stabilization Services (MRSS) program and provides support services to consumers and families who have experienced a behavioral health crisis. Under supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the Licensed Behavioral Health Staff provides immediate crisis assessment using appropriate screening tools and evaluations to determine safety risks and provide follow-up intervention and stabilization services to youth and families in the least restrictive setting that is clinically appropriate. They will assist in the identification of issues that contribute to a crisis and may create future crises if left untreated. Evaluators will develop and revise individualized crisis safety plans. As needed, Evaluators will facilitate hospital admission and arrangement of transportation. They also will be responsible for assisting in follow-up during the 7-day post-crisis period. The MRSS Team is responsible for 24/7 mobile emergency responses (8 a.m. to 8 p.m. face to face and 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. telephonic) for youth and adults experiencing a behavioral health crisis in Montgomery or Preble counties in Ohio. The MRSS team operates from a strengths-based perspective, collaborating with first responders, community stakeholders, clinical leadership, and fellow mobile crisis responders. The MRSS team will work within a culture of crisis prevention, making every effort to ensure individuals are effectively stabilized within their home and community whenever possible. The MRSS team will ensure appropriate follow-up for individuals who have experienced a crisis event and ensure linkage to ongoing supports and services, operating in an enhanced localized crisis response system contributing to the goal of increased community stabilization. *Essential Duties and Responsibilities* * Provides initial and ongoing mobile responses, inclusive of risk assessments for a young person in crisis. * Attends to safety and clinical concerns that require additional consultation, clinical intervention or assessment. * De-escalates the presenting crisis during the initial mobile response and subsequent crises during MRSS care. * Co-create and update safety and MRSS Plans with the young person and family. * Provide telephonic consultation to MRSS staff when the initial mobile response team is made up of non-licensed staff. * Conduct necessary assessments to determine young person and family needs, strengths, and protective factors including the use of the Ohio Childrens Initiative Brief CANS when appropriate as identified in the Ohio Administrative Code. * For those instances when the initial mobile response team consists of unlicensed staff, the licensed staff coordinates with the unlicensed team to conduct the remaining elements of the initial mobile response phase when warranted (i.e. crisis assessment, MSE, lethality assessment etc.). * Works with the youth and family to establish and achieve family defined goals; develop skills to prevent future crises; and determine what other types of services and supports are needed. * Secure appropriate approvals on plans and plan revisions. * Co-develops and initiates a transition plan to clinical and natural supports. * Collaborates with the MRSS peer supporters and paraprofessionals to define and achieve family goals. * Articulates the mission, vision and practices of the MRSS program. * Communicates the practice expectations of the emergency response system to consumers, community partners, and * Responds to crisis referrals according to Choices policy. * Provides back up when requested/as available if contacted by first * Adheres to the policies and protocols established by Choices for the management of a 24/7 mobile crisis response * Incorporates the guiding principles and values of Systems of Care into their interactions with youth and families, fellow team members, Choices staff and system * Communicates effectively with Choices Leadership Team to ensure collaborative efforts and proactive response to issues and * Maintains positive working relationships with co-workers. * Follows established strategic plans and quality improvement procedures to achieve stated goals and enhance the experience of referred individuals with mobile crisis response services. * Ensures collection and documentation of all necessary service * Participates in scheduled meetings to review performance and quality indicators and makes recommendations to improve the response and stabilization service based on experience. * Willingly completes other duties as assigned to advance the mission of the Mobile Crisis Team. *Qualifications* * Holds a license for one of the following preferred: * Licensed professional counselor, * Licensed professional clinical counselor, * Licensed professional clinical counselor - supervisor, * Master's level counselor trainee, * Independent social worker, * Independent social worker - supervisor, * Social worker, * Social worker trainee, * Independent marriage and family therapist, * Marriage and family therapist, * Marriage and family therapist trainee licensed or registered under Chapter 4757. of the Revised Ohio Administrative Code, * Licensed psychologist as defined in section 01of the Revised Ohio Administrative Code, or * Psychology trainee, psychology assistant, or psychology intern who is working under the supervision of a licensed psychologist as defined in section 01of the Revised Ohio Administrative Code and is registered by the supervising licensed psychologist as described in division (B) of section 4732.22 of the Revised Ohio Administrative Code. * BSW with a Social Work license, or eligible for licensure. * Geographically located to assure a 60-minute response to an immediate need. * Strong communication and writing skills.
