Network Infrastructure Manager

The purpose of this position is to ensure the Network Infrastructure team consistently performs to standards outlined by policies and procedures established for its operation. This includes managing a diverse workforce positioned to provide the latest communication technologies, both copper and fiber optic services in a high growth data center environment. Supervisory Responsibilities

:

This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include, but are not limited to: training and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, delegating and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving employee issues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

:

Maintain the operational integrity of all Network Infrastructure operations to ensure consistent positive customer experience Analyze statistics and Key Performance Indicators [KPI’s] to determine and improve level of service Act as an elevated escalation contact for Network Infrastructure operations Completion of performance evaluations and disciplinary actions for Network Infrastructure team when necessary Plan, develop, and implement enhanced policies and procedures to streamline efficiency and customer service Scheduling of Network Infrastructure team to meet shift demands Define/create performance metrics Provide operational documentation to managerial reporting structure Development of operations continuity planning and training regimens including mentorship Be operationally fluent with all responsibilities of direct reports Perform quality assurance reviews on Supervisors to include Technician reports Prepare and maintain visual schedule of all assigned jobs Work closely with other teams within & outside of Network Operations to drive excellence and apply best practices Manage work orders to include procurement of equipment to complete work orders Lead by example fostering a healthy work environment for all employees Other Duties

:

Local, domestic, and international travel may be required at Switch’s request Ensure all teams are executing tasks at a high level and on time

Installation of premise hardware, including but not limited to, plywood backboards, conduit, structured cabling, patch panels, PDU’s, DC power rectifiers, wire management systems Installation of network hardware, including but not limited to, switches, routers, firewalls, media converters, wireless access points, wireless microwave radios, TDM multiplexers and other transport equipment Installation of fiber optic cables as well as splicing, testing and documentation for SWITCH and its customers

Provide routine feedback on existing company processes and opportunities for improvement Assist upper management in the process of interviewing and on boarding of new employees All employees are responsible for the general upkeep and cleanliness of Switch facilities; this includes but is not limited to Meet Me Cages and IDF’s Other duties as assigned Required Job Skills

Required to work a flexible schedule according to business needs/events (to include, but not limited to nights and weekends and/or shift rotation) Demonstrated expertise in Telecommunications and Data Center Industry Ability to manage and supervise technical staff Demonstrated knowledge of industry cabling standards and datacenter infrastructure deployment Understanding of various network topologies Efficiently interact with computing systems Ability to navigate and effectively utilize ticketing systems Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism Ability to effectively manage deadlines Display strong organizational skills Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusion Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited direction Computer Equipment and Software

:

Computer literate with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite Experience with equipment terminal access applications (Ex.: CRT, Putty, SSH) Experience with network monitoring software applications (Ex.: Syslog, Nagios, etc.) Education and Experience:

Certification: CompTIA (A+, N+, Security+) or other Switch approved, role-based technical training

Required within 12 months in role

Cisco certifications are highly recommended OSHA 30

Required within 6 months in role

Leadership Training

Required within 12 months in role

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or Business discipline recommended or equivalent experience in related field Experience: 4+ years in a supervisory role or related management experience Must have background within the Network Infrastructure, Information Technology field or related educational background which includes troubleshooting and critical path creation that leads to problem resolution as well as demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hardware, layer 1 connectivity issues and maintenance on hardware devices and must be comfortable with Field Replaceable Units (FRUs) on multiple hardware platforms and familiar with all media types Physical Demands

The employee must be able to work in various conditions unique to a data center environment including: The ability occasionally work in tight and narrow spaces Must be able to stoop, kneel, and crouch for long periods of time Work at heights and confined spaces Work in areas with hotter and colder temperatures than a normal office environment If your position requires you to work in the field and/or warehouse, it is mandatory that you wear approved Personal Protective Equipment.
