Overview:

BankSouth is currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our Loan Processing team. This is an ideal opportunity for a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in the real estate arena to transition to an "in house" position as well as Loan Processors with experience working for a high-volume commercial/business lender. Our loan processing team is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all loan documentation. The selected candidate will enjoy working side-by-side with an experienced Loan Assistant as well Relationship Managers, Business Development Officers, Retail Bankers, and Market Leaders to support our rapidly growing bank. This position is also part of a larger team of talented processors who support the organization at our corporate headquarters in Lake Oconee, GA, and other operational locations.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for file accuracy and timeliness of delivery on commercial, residential, and consumer loan documents/disclosures. This includes completing the loan processor checklist and giving the clear to close approval on loan packages that do not require a pre-closing review
  • Monitors pipeline reports for loan volume.
  • Monitor reports for complete applications to ensure we are complying with Regulation B regarding adverse action notifications.
  • Assists in identifying training needs and prepares training material.
  • Communicates LaserPro updates to team
  • Ensures that all processor functions are performed within their set standards.
  • Satisfactorily complete all required Bank Secrecy Act/AntiMoney Laundering/OFAC compliance training.
  • Comply with all regulations which apply within the scope of this position.
  • Demonstrate collaborative leadership and cross-department communication and coordination.
  • Other functions, duties, and tasks as assigned although position is based in the Greensboro Market, all loan processors provide support/back-up based on total loan volume to include other markets/branches.
Key Results Areas:
  • Produce accurate loan packages in a timely manner to ensure they are delivered sufficiently prior to loan closings.
  • Gain a full understanding of both the commercial and consumer lending procedures and requirements in order ensure all loans meet applicable compliance and regulatory guidelines.
  • Become familiar with Banks loan policy and approval authorities to be able to accurately review and produce loan files that meet Bank guidelines.


Qualifications

Experience & Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required with an associate degree or higher education preferred. Ideal candidate will have experience in loan processing/administration with commercial/real estate loan packages which includes individuals with real estate or paralegal experience. Experience with TRID loans is required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

The ideal Candidate with have integrity, discretion, and respect for confidential information. The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced, diverse, and growth-oriented environment. Will have sound oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills that invoke a team approach and cooperative attitude. They will have knowledge of loan policy and procedures.

Other Requirements:

Satisfactorily complete all required compliance training and compliance with all laws and regulations that apply based on the scope of this position.

Interpersonal Skills:

Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving and obtaining information, as well as advising or referring, which commonly require shorter discussions.

Physical Requirements:

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work environment with moderate noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements:

Must be able to perform job functions independently and with limited supervision. Must work effectively as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic financial calculations with accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under stress of deadline, requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on confidential matters.
