The lab will be purchasing new equipment and tools that have technology components (i.e. Software as a Service backend for credentialing or processing, needing network connectivity to pass information to other devices, software systems for accreditation, etc.) and must go through the City's Architectural Standards Committee (ASC) and Information Security approval processes. This position will be responsible for gathering data and working with both Forensics Lab and Information Technology personnel to interpret information received from the vendor, and run the new purchases through ASC and InfoSec approvals. Additionally, this position will be responsible for vendor management (especially as it relates to timelines) to meet move deadlines and other portions of the move plan. This position will be expected to work with and present to management and senior staff positions in various departments involved with this project including the Police Department, Information Technology, Public Works and the Office of Performance and Innovation (OPI). If time allows, the candidate will coordinate with Police and OPI for Council and other citywide approvals and processes for actual procurement. Priority 1 Estimated Start Date Mid-August 2023 Estimated Duration 6 - 9 months with a budget capped at $100,000 Work Schedule Monday - Thursday - 7:30 - 5:30 Location of Work City Hall - IT Offices Majority in office work to forge and foster relationships on site. Part time telework eligible based on real time circumstance. Deliverables Complete technology architecture and information security review of all desired products. Complete all required documentation and save artifacts in City archives. Begin procurement process for approved products. Required Skills and Experience Limited experience is acceptable, certifications not required. Strong organization and facilitation skills; ability to work and communicate with a diverse group of business and technical people from staff to executive levels; translate business requirements and technical standards to all levels in the organization; critical thinking and problem solving a must; ability to break a complicated issue down into manageable pieces; willing to learn process and procedures within multiple departments. This indicates to the vendor that the turn-around time needs to be of normal duration or a bit quicker. Estimated Start Date - Identify the date you wish to have services start. Estimated Duration - Identify, in weeks, how long the services are required. Work Schedule - Identify the work schedule for the services to be provided (i.e., Mon-Thurs, 7:30a - 5:30p). Location of Work - Identify the location at which the services will be provided (i.e., 240 Water Street, City Hall). Deliverables - Identify the work products to be produced by the services (i.e., Requirements Documents (format to be provided), Architectural Design and As-builts Documents (format to be provided), Installation Instructions, etc.). Required Skills and Experience - Identify the years of experience and the skill set the services must provide. These are the minimum requirements (i.e., 5+ years of experience with C# .Net developing business applications; Use of Team Foundation Server for source code control and automated testing; Ability to interview users for functional requirements and document those requirements; Ability to create application Test Plans, etc.). Desired Skills and Experience - Identify any additional experience and skills the services should provide. These are the additional requirements that will make a resource more desirable and valuable.
