Who we're looking for
Toyota's TMNA Corporate Accounting Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Analyst, General Accounting.
The primary responsibility of this role is to act as the key resource for company product liability/legal accounting tasks, Hydrogen Fuel accounting, Close meeting tasks, as well as key general accounting and reporting monthly close activities. This role is responsible for all tasks related to product liability/legal including month end close entries, fluctuation analysis, reconciliations, and working with internal and external audit. The role collaborates closely with team members from other departments to complete key general accounting activities.
Reporting to the Manager, General Accounting, the person in this role will support the Corporate Accounting's department's objective of timely financial close and accurate reporting of financial information.
What you'll be doing
- Perform all close tasks related to product liability/legal. Tasks will include monthly entries, fluctuation analysis, reporting, leading quarterly meetings. Position will serve as the subject matter expert. Perform key month-end close procedures ensuring all key tasks and SOX procedures are completely and accurately performed on a timely basis.
- Perform monthly tasks related to hydrogen fuel accounting
- Prepare monthly close meeting materials
- Assist with review of journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare various ad hoc reports for tax and compliance.
- Perform monthly account reconciliation of assigned accounts.
- Compliance with and support of external and internal audits which include public accounting quarterly reviews, annual audits and controls testing.
- Update desk procedures and relevant policies, procedures, and SOX narratives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years in accounting and financial reporting/auditing
- 2+ years in public accounting
- Demonstrated experience with accounting, financial reporting, finance, or other relevant experience.
- Proven analytical, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
- Proven ability to work well independently under demanding deadlines and function effectively in a team-based environment.
- Enthusiastic self-starter with ability multi task and be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple working groups
- Organized and very detail oriented
- Demonstrates proficiency in MS Excel skills and ability to work with systems.
- CPA or in process
- IFRS experience
- Sarbanes Oxley experience
- BPC Experience
- Automobile industry experience
- SAP S4/Hana Cloud knowledge or experience
- Experience analyzing large volumes of data
