Job Title: Reinsurance Accountant
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for preparation of cession statements and remittance
Develop and maintain relationships with reinsurers and reinsurance brokers with regards cessions/accounting
Assist with collateral monitoring and analysis including letter of credit and related funding requirements when necessary.
Actively participate in internal and/or external discussions on new/renewal reinsurance agreements
Execute controls accurately.
Prepare General Ledger Entries
Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations
Assist in preparation of Schedule F and other financial statements.
Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
Additional duties as directed.
UALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years related insurance experience
Property and Casualty Insurance Program experience a plus
Remote position but must be commutable to Middletown CT
REQUIRED SKILLS, KEY COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:
Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
Solid working experience with Microsoft Product Suite
General Ledger Experience
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Detail and Deadline-Oriented
Time Management skills
Excellent Verbal Communication
Strong analytical ability
