Whitmore is currently seeking a Buyer to join our team at the Rockwall, Texas facility.**

**Position Purpose:**

Ensure the procurement and availability of materials to support production. Provide administrative coordination and support to the procurement function to ensure information and data are up-to-date.

**Job Responsibilities:**

* Evaluate purchase messages from the ERP system and procure the proper amount of raw materials to support continuous production in manufacturing.

* Create purchase orders from non-stock purchase requisitions.

* Ensure accurate delivery dates are maintained in the ERP system.

* Update and maintain material data (by vendor) to allow for the best MRP planning possible.

* Review and maintain current vendor list and negotiate better pricing of current materials on a limited basis.

* Partner with plant operations team to ensure materials are available to support production needs.

* Build and maintain good relationships with internal customers**.**

* Ensure three-way match on incoming raw materials to keep payments to vendors timely.

* Perform other duties as assigned by the manager

* Must follow all Safety Methods and Procedures. (i.e. Proper Lifting Techniques, MSDS, etc.)

* Have an understanding of basic GMP's and Quality Control concepts and practices in order to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other training instructions.

* Adhere to the CSW Industrials Code of Ethics, actively apply the CSW Industrials Core Values.

**Essential Skills, Education & Experience:**

* Bachelors degree and 3-5 years experience in procurement or related fields.

* Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Must be comfortable interacting with the ERP system through a PC/terminal server.

* General understanding of Supply Chain Management and the impact that different order activities and changes have upon the different points of the chain;

* Ability to acquire detailed knowledge of specific customers, products, product lines, and packing & shipping standards;

* Ability to liaison with other cross functional employees within Supply Chain and work with multiple processes and procedures;

* Ability to recognize, analyze, and offer solutions to problems or involve the necessary people to ensure the problem is properly resolved;

* Quick learner and have the ability to keep an open mind to changes that may impact daily activities.
