Machinist II

Shift/Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00-5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $18-22/hr.

Location: Pasadena, Texas- 77502

Experience:5 years of experience preferred.

Position Summary:Reads and interprets blueprints to fabricate precision-machined metal parts used in manufacturing goods. Machinists will be expected to ensure that all manufactured pieces meet provided specifications and may be held responsible for maintaining the equipment. Machinist II's should be proficient at milling, lathing, EDM and /or grinding.

Role Qualification:
  • Must demonstrate a sound knowledge of reading machine drawings.Reading drawings includes understanding dimensions, notes, call outs, surface finishes, bill of materials, and tolerances.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to program and operate Okuma lathes, Mazak lathes and Haas CNC milling machines.
  • Must be able to do basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Must be able to design simple fixtures in order to complete the product.
Machinist II Primary Responsibilities:
  • Setup and operate CNC Okuma lathes, Mazak lathes, and Haas milling equipment to produce production parts.
  • Produce machined parts to close tolerance dimensions.
  • Program Mazatrol, Fanuc, G-code Okuma, or DynaPath software.
  • Work efficiently to maintain production levels by operating multiple machines within a work cell.
  • Work as a team member to solve problems with machining and production.
  • Demonstrate a positive work ethic by sharing knowledge and procedures with co-workers.
  • Other duties as needed and assigned
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
  • Comprehends and can explain the operational steps required to complete a job so that a fellow employee may understand it.Must read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to stand and walk throughout the workday.
  • Frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel material.
  • Constant use hands/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel, or handle and manipulate parts and tools.
  • Must constantly wear eye protection (Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required).
Physical Demands/Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here represent those that must be met by an employee to perform the job's essential functions successfully.

Physical Demands: While performing the job duties, the employee must stand, walk, sit for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.The employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 10 lbs but may occasionally lift to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees must talk by expressing or exchanging ideas employing the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and maintaining focus and concentration throughout the workday.
