The Expertise We're Looking For
- BS or Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or related field
- 10+ years of technology experience in the development and implementation of new technologies in financial and high-tech environments.
- Comprehensive experience in overall end to end Software Solution Engineering in a fast-paced Scrum environment.
- Influences strategic backlog and prioritization decisions related to software development.
- Experience with a variety of development platforms, technologies and languages.
- Familiar with various design and architectural patterns and their application.
- Demonstrated mastery of application development techniques and high-quality deliverables.
- Keep current with the latest technology and industry trends; drive innovation and adopt technologies that support and advance business strategy.
- Rapid prototyping of new concepts, technologies, and development methods.
- Experience and understanding of enterprise integration patterns.
- Knowledge of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and principles.
- Experience with developing and maintaining high-quality code in Python.
- Validated experience with API Design & Development and Microservices Architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and building RESTful services and proficiency in using Jenkins and Git.
- Deep understanding of Cloud Technologies and extensive experience implementing cloud-based solutions in AWS using services such as (SNS, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, etc.)
- Experience in container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes/Docker.
- Proficient in databases and SQL. Exposure to Snowflake is a plus.
- Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code languages such as Terraform, CloudFormation and ARM.
- Experience with Open Policy Agent (OPA) and Rego a plus.
- Experience with blue / green and active / active application deployment configurations.
- Hands-on experience developing software in a Principal Developer capacity on an Agile/Scrum team.
- Experience coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team.
- Out of the box problem solving and troubleshooting skills in Quality Engineering, Automation and willingness to learn and experiment with new technologies.
- Actively contribute to evangelize engineering practices such as code and design reviews and the definition of source control strategy, environment strategy, and build and deployment pipeline.
- Work closely with the product owner, analyst, architect and other team members to help increase speed of delivery, improve quality of code, stability of production, optimization of processes and influence technical improvements to the platform.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical partners.
