Headquartered in the center of the Vidalia growing region in Southeast Georgia, family-owned Shuman Farms has been in the sweet onion industry for more than two generations. Our legacy began in the mid-1980s with a small family farm in Reidsville, GA. Today, we are an industry-leading, year-round grower and shipper of premium sweet onions.

Successful applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (MBA preferred), minimum of 3 years of experience as CFO or C Level Finance Executive and a professional accounting designation (CA, CMA or CPA).

Job Description

Provide extensive input and analysis on transaction documents and reporting.

Develop effective and efficient resource planning tools.

Lead, coach, develop, and manage staff.

Develop and maintain all lending relationships.

Responsible for compiling quarterly and annual financial statements.

Responsible for overseeing preparation and management of all state and federal tax reporting.

Lead all tax planning and forecasting.

Ensure full transparency over the financial performance of the company.

Provide advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs.

Propose action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained and maintain speed and accuracy of billings and client payments.

Qualifications

Familiar with multiple accounting software systems.

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Well-versed in GAAP and pertinent tax principles and have experience in budgetary controls in an investment environment.

Must demonstrate abilities to implement a treasury management solution, train and energize a cohesive accounting staff.

Be results oriented and a strategic thinker.

Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
