What you will be doing:
Develop and implement data warehouse strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure optimal data management and utilization.
Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data warehouse solutions.
Identify opportunities for improving data warehouse infrastructure and performance to meet evolving business needs.
Lead and coordinate any upcoming and ongoing data projects, identifying key dependencies and crucial resource requirements to maintain project timelines.
Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and data security standards.
Implement access controls and data encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data within the data warehouse environment.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate data warehouse security and compliance.
Proactively manage any incoming data requests for the new data platform, categorizing and managing them based on urgency, relevance, and feasibility.
Responsible for hiring, leading, supporting and developing a team, delivering continuous performance feedback, and providing opportunities for professional success.
Monitor the performance and efficiency of the data warehouse environment, identifying and addressing bottlenecks and performance issues.
Implement best practices for data warehouse optimization, including indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and contingency plans to ensure data warehouse availability and reliability.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
What you already have:
Education, Experience, and Licensing:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
7+ years'
experience in data warehousing and data management
4+ years' experience with Microsoft Azure cloud and related data services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure DataLake Gen 2, and Azure Databricks and Power BI
3+ years of supervisory or managerial experience required.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
Extensive knowledge of data modeling techniques, ETL processes, and data integration technologies.
Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles
Effective research, problem solving, analytical, critical thinking, influencing, and relationship management skills necessary.
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate the value of analytical work to key stakeholders.
Proven ability to be adaptable and flexible; adjusting to new requirements or unforeseen issues.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent
organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally interact with team members across departments.
Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
