Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of MA education and training plus Medical Assistant certification preferred
  • Knowledge of Insurance/Disability forms processing and FMLA regulations
  • Strong computer, phone and general office skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Must possess a positive attitude toward patients and coworkers, and must be a team player.
  • Must be able to understand the immediate needs of the patients, infants and adults, in relation to communication, family involvement, social environment, physical environment, and emotional needs.
  • Must be flexible, willing to float, and perform alternative shifts and assignments when necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Maintains a professional approach and communicates effectively with physicians, patients and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Assists the physician and/or physician assistant or nurse practitioner with data collection (e.g., vital signs, weights, heights) and procedures. Performs dressing changes, immunizations, CLIA approved laboratory testing, and other diagnostics. Collects specimens.
  • Produces accurate and timely medical record documentation using proper format and language.
  • Exercises primary responsibility for caseload by scheduled appointments and patient needs.
  • Maintains and prepares the office for daily activities.Assists in the ordering and stocking of supplies.
