Responsibilities

•Maintain accurate records of prequalification applications, follow-ups, and outcomes.
•Interact with potential borrowers to collect and review initial financial information to determine prequalification eligibility.
•Guide applicants through the prequalification process, explaining requirements, documentation needed, and next steps.
•Analyze financial documents such as pay stubs, W-2 forms, tax returns, and bank statements to assess the borrower's financial standing.
•Verify applicant information for accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance with lending guidelines.
•Communicate prequalification decisions to applicants and provide feedback on the potential loan amount, terms, and conditions.
•Collaborate with Loan Officers and Underwriters to review prequalification cases and escalate any complex issues as needed.
•Maintain accurate records of prequalification applications, follow-ups, and outcomes.
•Stay current on lending regulations, policies, and industry trends related to mortgage prequalification.
•Provide exceptional customer service by addressing applicant inquiries, resolving concerns, and ensuring a positive experience throughout the prequalification process.
•Meet prequalification targets and performance goals set by management

Qualifications

•3+ years of experience in a mortgage environment as a loan officer, loan processor, underwriter or mortgage loan officer assistant or similar position
•Having an NMLS license is not required, but is preferred
•Ability to effectively work in a strong team-oriented environment and provide outstanding communication and customer service to clients
•Possess an advanced understanding of different loan products, such as conventional loans, FHA, VA, adjustable/ fixed, commercial loans, etc.
•Proficiency in MS Office required; CRM, MLS, DU, and proprietary mortgage software preferred
