Job Description

Client is looking for a senior-level database administrator who can work with both Oracle and AWS Redshift databases, perform day-to-day functions, work in an Agile environment, and handle auditing functions.

Oracle production support DBA experience; specifically, RMAN, OEM, and RAC. Experience with LARGE multi-node RAC databases .PROVEN experience with Oracle 19c databases. Experience creating physical standby database in oracle 19c using RMAN

From a reporting aspect, they have Cognos and Tableau but Tableau will be their data visualization tool of choice.

The ideal candidate should have knowledge of Oracle and Redshift, be comfortable running scripts, suggesting performance improvements, and deploying code.

The hiring manager does realize that finding someone with expertise in both Oracle RAC/19c and AWS Redshift can be challenging, but she is open to candidates with a strong Oracle background with some AWS Redshift experience as long as they are excited about moving to Redshift which is the future.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Overall maintenance, administration, monitoring, problem management, and production for Oracle databases.

Daily maintenance including monitoring and database maintenance tasks.

Database Upgrades to include working with project managers and managing individual projects for DB upgrades.

Backup & Recovery

Apply patches and upgrade database versions.

Install and Build database structures.

Develop and maintain shell scripts.

Query and performance tuning

Develop and maintain documentation.

Program in PL/SQL

Performance tuning of databases

Reviews database design and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.

Maintains security and integrity controls.

Develop stored procedures and/or triggers.

Education: Bachelors Degree
