Opening in with our manufacuring client for a Category Manager for a role focused on capital expenditure (CapEx) strategy development and management. 

Hybrid role in Pittsburgh, PA.

The CapEx Category Manager will play a crucial role in managing the procurement activities related to capital equipment, building, infrastructure, and services from manufacturers across the globe. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead category strategy development, deployment, and supplier management for Capital Equipment and Services.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of category strategies for Capital Equipment and Services, aligned with business objectives and requirements.

Conduct thorough analysis of category trends, market dynamics, and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for value creation, risk mitigation, and enhanced quality and service.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business strategy and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the CapEx category.

Negotiate supplier contracts, terms, and conditions to optimize cost savings, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with company policies and standards.

Drive supplier performance management processes, including regular performance reviews, scorecard evaluations, and resolution of issues or disputes.

Actively manage supplier relationships to foster collaboration, innovation, and long-term partnerships.

Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost savings, quality, delivery, and service levels within the CapEx category.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field required.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, or related field, preferably within the capital equipment and services category.

CPSM/CPSD/C.P.M. certification(s) preferred

Strong understanding of procurement processes, strategic sourcing methodologies, and contract negotiation principles.

Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing category strategies to drive cost savings, mitigate risks, and improve supplier performance.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software tools.

Ability to travel up to 30% as required.
