Our client, a manufacturer is seeking a meticulous and experienced individual to fill the role of Quality Control Supervisor. As a vital member of the factory team, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Quality Control Department, ensuring adherence to quality standards and processes essential for success.

  • Job Title: Quality Control Supervisor
  • Location: Troy, AL
  • Reports To: Quality Manager
  • Salary: $75-$80k annually

Summary of the Role:

The Quality Control Supervisor plays a pivotal role in supervising daily activities within the Quality Control Department. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and departments, you will uphold quality standards set by upper management while fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and productivity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to part quality specifications outlined by Product Engineering.
  • Maintain or exceed quality control standards throughout the inspection process, ensuring seamless part flow.
  • Proficiently conduct inspections utilizing artifacts and electronic gauging techniques.
  • Demonstrate expertise in surface plate layout techniques and diverse inspection equipment.
  • Effectively communicate daily production requirements, emphasizing safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Interpret technical prints accurately.
  • Develop, sustain, and enhance quality control methods and procedures.
  • Determine offsets and adjust as necessary.
  • Provide comprehensive training, mentorship, and audit employees' quality progress.
  • Conduct setup, first piece, in-process, and final inspections proficiently.
  • Ensure employees have requisite tools, standards, and PPE for safe and efficient job performance.
  • Conduct visual, functional, and safety inspections of accurately.
  • Develop standard work, setup sheets, and operations for production jobs.
  • Deliver timely performance feedback to quality department members.
  • Report to management promptly on quality or productivity matters unresolved by leads.
  • Possess strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel).
  • Independently make decisions on product disposition accurately.
  • Troubleshoot issues and devise corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor and adhere to SOPs.
  • Acquire knowledge of inspected products' nature and functionality.
  • Communicate effectively regarding functional or cosmetic discrepancies.
  • Ensure accurate input of required data into manufacturing databases.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and collaborate within cross-functional teams with professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with multitasking abilities.
  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in using and programming CMM machines.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret quality performance reports and devise solutions.
  • Effective presentation skills to convey information to various stakeholders.

Education/Experience:

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing.
