Job Description:
We are seeking a Junior to Mid Level Estimator to join our team in White Plains, NY. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, with a strong background in both ground-up and renovation projects in the New York area.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for ground-up and renovation projects, including material and labor costs, subcontractor bids, and project overheads.
- Review project plans, specifications, and scope of work to develop comprehensive and competitive bids.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate project requirements and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyze and compare subcontractor bids, negotiate pricing, and make recommendations for subcontractor selection.
- Prepare and present detailed estimates, proposals, and bid packages to clients and stakeholders.
- Monitor project budgets and costs throughout the construction process, identifying variances and implementing cost-saving measures when necessary.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on ground-up and renovation projects in the New York area.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in estimating and cost analysis.
