T he Quotations Specialist position will be responsible to analyze customer product requirements and prepare quote documentation and Crane CRYOFlo project proposals based on information regarding product and pricing needs, shipping location, competitive bids, contract requirements, and business margin guidelines. The role is the primary liaison between customers and the company for normal day-to-day sales activity principally having to deal with orders, expedites, order modifications, order confirmations, export documentation and Returned Goods Authorizations.The Quotation Specialist will be heavily involved in the technical details of major strategic project orders. The goal is to create value and establish the project order management process as a key differentiator from our co mpetitors from project quotation stage to final valve and documentation delivery.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES (includes, but not limited to):

Read, analyze, and understand and customer request-for-quotes (RFQs), specifications and requirements to enable building of proposals.

Complete and deliver accurate and complete quotations through specification evaluation, delivery, costing, pricing, computer completion, generation of formal quotation and distribution.

Contribute to pricing decisions through analysis of competitive factors that must be considered and negotiated.

Understand and apply divisional policies regarding pricing, discounts, freight, etc. including managing pricing and related level of approval process requirements.

Process customer orders in a timely and accurate manner including clarification and order entry.

Review and validate quoted delivery prior to order entry in conjunction with buyers and planners and prepares written response to customer if delivery situation has changed.

Implement change orders, order cancellations and maintains existing sales orders and acknowledges processing of order changes to customer.

Investigates customer requests for returned goods and verifies consistency with established policy. Processes the Returned Goods Authorization for departmental approval.

In conjunction with the Import/Export Compliance Manager, ensures compliance with United States Government Export Laws for the operations.

Works in conjunction with export shipping coordinator, shipping manager and freight forwarders to ensure that all requirements are fulfilled in order that the goods will make it to their destination and that there will be no delays in receiving payment, etc.

Coordinate the preparation of export documents for export shipments.

Provide product and technical support and solutions to customers by collaborating with Technical Support, Business Line Management, and Engineering and other appropriate departments.

Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills to generate well balanced customer and business solutions.

Partner with finance to discuss and obtain approvals for non-standard payment terms, Letter of Credit and warranty bonds.

Assists Accounting and other stakeholders in researching and resolving customer account discrepancies within international team responsibility.

Participates actively in the Crane Business System processes including Kaizen team involvement, problem solving, and recommending solutions to improve the quality of business activities.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

Essential Criteria:

Bachelors Degree in engineering or other technical/STEM degree, business administration, finance, accounting, or related field; preference for engineering

Minimum 2 years industry experience

Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and work within a fast-paced changing environment.

Effectively interact with customers via the phone, e-mail, other written and verbal communication mediums.

Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of personnel.

Ability to take direction and work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and situations to achieve superior proactive project order management and customer satisfaction.

Ability to utilize time effectively, excellent time management skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Criteria:

Two or more years of cost analysis or pricing experience

Experience working with cryogenic industry products and services, especially valves and vacuum jacketed pipe manifolds.

Experience working with all phases of solicitation processes such as requests for information, pricing, and negotiation

Export experience a plus.

Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project and CRM software.
